Peony Card was awarded "China Annual Award for NO.1 Brand" and "China Finance Annual Award"

Annual Conference for World Managers hosted by World Brand Laboratory, World Managers Weekly and Mundell magazine was held on December 21st, 2006 in Hong Kong. On the conference,  several awards such as "2006 China Annual Award for NO.1 Brand" and "2006 China Annual Award for NO.1 Finance" appraised by World Brand Laboratory were published. Peony Card was awarded "2006 China Annual Award for NO.1 Brand" as the only awarded brand among products of the same category. At the same time, it won "2006 China Annual Award for NO.1 Finance" and ranked No.1 in "Top Ten Peony Card Most Reliable in China".

Up till December 25th, 2006, ICBC had issued over 180 million Peony Cards, among which 10 million were credit cards, with a total consumption volume of 100 billion Yuan. Core indicators such as consumption volume and interbank trade volume all ranked top in the trade, and the asset quality of the credit card was also among the best ones. ICBC is the first bank in China that achieved the goal of issuing over 10 million credit cards with consumption volume of more than 10 billion Yuan, which became a milestone in the history of the development of Peony Card. As the biggest bank issuing credit cards, ICBC established its leading position in the trade. In the mean time, the achievement of "double thousand" had profound significance for the development of credit card in China. It signaled that after twenty years' development, China's credit card industry had entered a new era and stepped onto the road of industrialization.

Present at the conference was over 300 delegates from well-known brands from various trades. Renowned experts on brand and economics from home and abroad also attended the conference and delivered wonderful speech. This event was widely reported by the media.

Peony Credit Card Was Awarded Champion for "2006 Most Reliable Credit Card"

In January 2007, the first round of on-line voting for "Influencing China•2006 Tencent Internet Ceremony" hosted by Tencent and co-hosted by The Wharton Business School, CCTV Global News Ranking and The economic observer concluded. This event invited the renowned market research institution Nielsen Company as the third party for statistics recognition. Champions for 12 trades were unveiled and Peony Credit Card was awarded the champion for "2006 Most Reliable Credit Card".

All awards for "Influencing China•2006 Tencent Internet Ceremony" were brought forth in cooperation with the life concept of 24 hour-on-line and covered all kinds of key products (companies or brands) users were likely to get in touch with ranging from cosmetics, clothes, cars, laptops as well as restaurants, houses and household applicants. All relevant new products from 12 trades this year were included. After the first-round voting by over 100 experts and second round of on-line voting on QQ, champion for each title was decided on and the list was announced. This online voting also took an initiative in bringing in the third party (Nielsen//NetRatings) for statistic recognition and supervision during the whole process to ensure the fairness and authoritative of the voting.

Peony Credit Card Won "Best User Experience" Award Twice

On January 31st, 2007, award ceremony for "2006 China Finance Ranking" hosted by Hexun Net and China Securities Market Research and Design Center was held in Beijing. Peony Credit Card of ICBC won "Best User Experience" award for the second time since August 2006.

"2006 Annual Ranking for Finance" conferred 25 awards covering major fields including bank, futures, securities, insurance, foreign exchanges, etc. Results were obtained from the large-scale online voting initiated by Hexun Net. Nearly 2 million Internet users participated in the voting and 95% financial institutions in China were covered by the voting. Winning this award twice showed that Peony Credit Card's leading position in the industry got approval by experts and internet users.

Peony Credit Card Was Awarded 2006 China Most Influential Brand for Credit Card

On January 31st, "Third (2006) Top Ten Influential Brand in China" public welfare campaign hosted by Market Edition of People's Daily, China United Merchants Paper, Shopping Guidance Paper, Brand magazine, China International Brand Association, World No.1 Research Center, China office for International Cooperation Promotion Center was concluded in the People's Hall. Peony Credit Card by ICBC was awarded "China Most Influential Brand for Credit Card".

This award was nominated by the public and experts of the trade and publicized on well-known websites such as People's net, sohu.com, Sunshine 315.com., Chinabrand.com, China market.com, etc and determined upon the result of public voting, cooperates' appraisal and judges' approval. The winning of this award showed that Peony Credit Card's leading position in the industry got approval by experts and internet users.

Peony Credit Card Won Two Major Awards from MasterCard International

In January 2007, Peony Platinum Card and Peony Gome Credit Card won Best Platinum Card and Best United Name Award issued by MasterCard International.

Peony Platinum Card is a top-level credit card issued by ICBC for best-quality customers. Peony Gome Credit Card was issued on August 8th, 2006 and it is the first household appliances Co-brand Card with International standard in China. It unites the functions and services of Peony International Credit Card and Gome Membership Card. Besides all financial services by Peony International Credit Card and services of online banking and phone banking, it also possesses all function of Gome Membership Card. It fulfills the need of "One Card Provides Double Membership Status and Endless Discounts".

Peony CNPC Card Won "Co-brand Credit Card Most Favored by Users" Award

On March 28th, 2007, result for the investigation for China First Ranking for Credit Cards was released and Peony CNPC Card won "Co-brand Credit Card Most Favored by Users" Award.

This three-month investigation on credit card was hosted by China's largest credit card website -- 51 credit.com and China Broadcast. Based on opinions of experts on various trades, besides solid indicators such as card issuing volume and average overdraft balance, investigators also made in-depth investigation and analysis among the card users and arranged the indicators in accordance with true feedback from customers. In this way, result of the ranking could be more accurate and faithful for customers and the market. Peony CNPC Card excelled itself in all these indicators and became top among products of the same category.

Peony CNPC Card was initiated by ICBC and CNPC and is the first Co-brand Card that can be used in gas stations in China. Since its debut in August 2005, 760,000 cards had been issued and the trade volume in 2006 was 2.64 billion. It had a fast increase in consumption volume since 2007 and the figure for January to March arrived at 1.65 billion Yuan. Besides basic financial functions of Peony Credit Card, Peony CNPC Card also had discount for adding gas and multiple add value services. On March 31st, 2007, "2006 Experts Conference on Analysis and Forecast on Prospect of Finance in China & 3rd China Annual Meeting for Experts on Finance" hosted by China finance.com and finance channel of sohu.com as well as advertisement department of CCTV was held in Beijing. Peony Credit Card issued by ICBC won "2006 Most Favored Peony Card by Consumers" award.

On this conference, experts made analyses, prediction and forecast on various aspects such as the opening of the financial area of China, prospect for monetary policies, bank reforms, prospect of insurance industry, prospect of securities industry, prospect of urban commercial banks, future development for rural cooperative finance, entrance of foreign financial institutions, etc. Individuals and corporate with excellent achievements in the field of finance in 2006 were awarded in the ceremony.

Peony Credit Card Won "Most Valuable Prize"

On April 27th, "Night for Investment 2007 & Awarding Ceremony for Credit Cards Most Favored by Consumers in China" hosted by Investment Advisor magazine was held in Beijing. Peony Credit Card of ICBC was awarded "Most Valuable Prize" by the organizing committee.

"2006 Most Favored Peony Card by Consumers" Award was based on the voting of 5120 card users and is a fair, scientific and objective indicator of the most favored brand for credit card. Peony Credit Card fully deserves the title of championship with its advantages in market share, convenience, safety and low expenditure.

Up till the end of the year 2006, ICBC had issued over 180 million Peony Cards, among which 10 million were credit cards, with a total consumption volume of 100 billion Yuan.
