Shipping and Offshore Engineering Equipment Leasing

I. Description
With ICBC's professional experience and constant support to shipping leasing, ICBC Leasing offers tailored leasing services for shipping owners, shipping companies, shipping liner companies, ocean engineering and other carriers, aiming to make due contribution to China's shipping industry.

II. Distinctive Advantages
Leveraging ICBC's extensive branch network at home and abroad, ICBC Leasing offers professional, tailored and flexible leasing products and services for the shipping industry in China and worldwide to meet the diverse needs of the lessees for business development, streamline their financial structure and residual value management and offer both financial leasing and equipment leasing.
The types of vessels include ships for dry/wet bulk cargo, container, roll-on roll-off, liquefied gas, chemical, heavy lift crane, and multi-purpose vessels as well as offshore engineering equipment (including oil rig, PSV and AHTS).
According to its own needs, the lessee will enter into business partnership with ICBC Leasing either through financial leasing or through operating leasing and bear the risks and returns of the shipping assets. When the financial leasing expires, the ownership of the vessel will be transferred to the lessee under the leasing agreement. When the operating leasing expires, the lessee will return the vessel to ICBC Leasing under the leasing agreement.

III. Business Type
i. Newly-built vessel
The lessee chooses the model, specifications and the manufacturer of the vessel and after confirmation, ICBC Leasing enters into agreement with the lessee. ICBC Leasing purchases the vessel from the shipping manufacturer as the lessor and leases the vessel to the lessee under the bareboat charter arrangement.
ii. Leaseback after sale
ICBC enters into agreement with the lessee over the existing vessel of the lessee, ICBC Leasing purchases the vessel from the lessee and then leases it to the lessee under the bareboat charter arrangement.
iii. Direct lease
The lessee chooses the model, specifications and the manufacturer of the vessel and ICBC Leasing, upon confirmation, enters into agreement with the lessee. ICBC Leasing directly purchases the vessel from the shipping's seller as the lessor and leases the vessel to the lessee under the bareboat charter arrangement.
iv. Cross-border lease
Through the single-vessel company set up in the tax-free zone, ICBC Leasing can address the lessee's needs and register the vessel at other places overseas accepted by ICBC Leasing.
v. Shipping purchase on-behalf
Based on the choices of different lessees, ICBC Leasing collects all their needs and directly places orders with the shipping manufacturer or purchases a vessel in the second-hand shipping market. After delivery of the vessel, ICBC Leasing leases the shipping to the lessee for use under the bareboat charter arrangement. The lessee pays the rent.
