The account opening service of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (USA) NA (THE BANK or ICBC (USA)) for Non-Resident Alien (NRA) Accounts witnessed by ICBC China Branches is to provide convenience to you who will soon move to the U.S. Through this service, you can establish an account relationship with THE BANK, apply for debit card and check book that are associated with this account, access to cyber banking and wire transfer service even before you arrive at U.S. Upon your arrival at U.S., you can obtain the debit card and check book through coming to branches of THE BANK in person with valid identification required by THE BANK.

• Funds arrangement before arriving at U.S. Through this service, you can arrange your funds before arriving at U.S. and avoid taking large sums of cash in travel which might cause inconvenience and risks.
• Account monitored with cyber banking and bank statements. Before you leave for U.S., you can monitor your bank account and check balance through logging into the cyber banking. You will also receive bank statements every month.
• Language barrier free service. You can be provided services in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese at any branch of THE BANK.

☆ Account Opening Procedure
1. You can visit the designated ICBC China branches in-person with valid identification (PRC Resident ID Card and Passport with valid visa) and fill out all the required forms.
2. ICBC China branches submit all the forms and identification documents to THE BANK.
3. THE BANK reviews your account opening application and decides whether the account can be opened or not. If the account is opened successfully, THE BANK will mail you the Account Opening Confirmation. After you receive the confirmation, you can make wire transfer to this account.
4. If you apply for cyber banking service, THE BANK will mail the PIN which you need to log into cyber banking to the ICBC China branch where you applied for this account. You can pick up the PIN with valid identification upon notice.
5. After arriving at U.S., you can pick up the debit card and check book from THE BANK branch.

☆ FAQs
1. Can I apply for this service?
If you are going to the United States for the purpose of studying, immigration, working or real-estate investment, and already have the approved US visa or have applied for US immigration visa, you are qualified to apply for this service.
2. How can I start to use online banking?
If you apply to use online banking of THE BANK, you need to check "Yes" on the item of "Application for Internet Banking" when you fill out the "Foreign Personal Account Opening Form". Once your account is opened successfully, the ID number needed to login online banking will be mailed to you along with the account opening confirmation. The PIN number needed to login online banking will be mailed in a password envelop to the Chinese Branch where you submitted the application and you will be notified by the Chinese Branch when it arrives. With passport, you can get the password envelop from the Chinese Branch in person. Once you get both the ID number and PIN number, you can start to use online banking.
3. When can I make wire transfer into the bank account?
Once the account is opened successfully, you can transfer money into the account, and get access to the account balance and other information via online banking. THE BANK recommends that you make wire transfer into the account within 60 days after it is successfully opened, otherwise THE BANK needs to be informed with reason of not doing so and retains the right to close the account.
