Tokyo stocks edge higher in morning on bargain hunting-Nov 12

Tokyo stocks crept higher Monday morning as investors sought out bargains following issues being oversold, although a lack of fresh domestic cues capped gains.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged up 33.98 points, or 0.15 percent, from Friday to 22,284.23.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, crept 1.1 points, or 0.07 percent, higher at 1,674.08.

Food, textile and apparel, as well as farm and fishery issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
