Business receipts of Singapore's services industries, excluding the wholesale and retail trade services and the accommodation and food services, grew by 8 percent year on year in the third quarter of 2018.

On a non-seasonally adjusted basis, the business receipts grew by 2 percent quarter on quarter in the period, according to the Business Receipts Index released by Singapore's Department of Statistics on Tuesday.

In a breakdown, the business receipts of transport and storage segment grew by 5.6 percent year on year, that of information and communication segment grew by 11.3 percent, that of financial and insurance segment grew by 10.6 percent, that of business services segment grew by 6.3 percent, that of education segment grew by 9.7 percent, that of health and social services segment grew by 5.5 percent, and that of recreation and personal services segment grew by 6.2 percent year on year.
