As related by ICBC, Global Finance (US) announced recently the winners in the 2010 "World's Best Internet Banks" competition. ICBC was named "Best Consumer Internet Bank in China" for the eighth successive year since 2003.
An executive with ICBC said, ICBC secured the first place in the domestic ranking of Internet Banking by the robust growth beginning from this year both in terms of customer scale and transaction volume. As of the end of June, ICBC scored 86.23 million personal internet banking customers. Total transaction turnover in the January to June period rose by 81.5% over same period last year to RMB 12.7 trillion. Meanwhile, the vibrant online banking services were a boost to ICBC in serving the customers. At the moment, transactions processed through internet banking or other electronic banking are already over those processed at the counter, or 54.6% of all.
