ICBC Named on the "2009 China Corporate Social Responsibility List"

The "2009 China Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Seminar and Award Ceremony of China CSR List", an event co-presented by China Enterprise News with authoritative organizations from home and abroad, draws its curtain on September 19th in Beijing. ICBC being the largest name among the peers anchors its place in "2009 China Corporate Social Responsibility List."

The competition of this year's CSR list lasts for five months. There is an exhaustive screening and selection process by a panel of experts that includes "the generation of 10000 entries→ initial screening down to 1052 candidates→ short listing of 300 finalists". The companies are measured and scored under 10 first-grade indexes and numerous second-grade indexes in areas of: corporate governance and moral value, employment and protection of employees' rights and benefits, environmental protection, energy saving and emission reduction, product quality management, protection of consumers' rights and interests, supply chain partnership, propel and support the improvement of Chinese science and technology, tax contribution index, scientific management in accountability and good public images. ICBC stays ahead of all others and wins the place.

Market practitioners comment that ICBC has arguably created outstanding return to the shareholders and offered quality services to the customers since going public. At the same time the bank also shows her gratitude by engaging actively in public charity. The award, once again, is the recognition and honor from all to the bank's public image of a distinguished corporate citizen.
