ICBC has remained focus on raising the bar of the services for mid-to–high end customers. Since 2009, the bank escalates the set-up of VIP customer centers with an aim to deliver very down-to-detail and convenient, special services for peony credit card holders. As of today, ICBC boosts the presence of 100 VIP customer centers around all the major cities in mainland China and Hong Kong.
ICBC VIP Customer Center for peony credit card holders is a statement of its service goal "putting the cardholders at all else". These centers are packed with all kinds of services, furnished in a very nice environment and equipped with all facilities. They are ready for offering comprehensive suite of services to mid-to-high end customers in three areas: 1. fundamental services including account enquiry, currency exchange, ATM, Internet Banking, Telephone Banking. 2. Emergency services for customers in other cities in emergency cases as report of loss, card replacement or cash advances. 3. Local value-added services for that city, such as where to go shopping or sightseeing, where to find merchants offering special discount, or to make a reservation.
ICBC has issued 48.86 million credit cards until September 23, 2009. In order to cater for the growth of cardholder volumes and service regions, the bank will continue to expand in the second-tier cities and overseas the network of VIP customer centers for peony credit card holders. By increasing market influence and sharpening its core competitiveness, ICBC is on pace to become "No.1 card issuer in the world, No.1 credit card brand in China".
