The "2009 Competitiveness Ranking of Chinese Local Banking Website", jointly held by the Govemade Research Center of Internet Finance Information Technology and the E-service Research Center of Zhejiang University, was announced recently. Among the websites of 17 national joint-stock commercial banks and 94 city commercial banks, the ICBC website obtained a much higher comprehensive score of evaluation than all the other banks, hence winning the most important prize—the 2009 "Golden Web Award" of Chinese Local Banking Website. It is ICBC's second time to be honored with this award since the Competitiveness Ranking was formed two years ago.

During the website evaluation, the hosts of the event comprehensively assessed all the participating websites based on four criteria: website standardization, banking business, operation performance, and extra points. ICBC is ranked top in each of the criterion. According to the experts of the assessment, from the perspective of development stage, the ICBC website has achieved the level of all-round application, featured with solid infrastructure and abundant content. In addition, the website is also in possession of sound functions in all aspects as well as unique advantages.

Responding to the experts' comment, the ICBC official who is responsible for the website said that the award represents the experts' high recognition of the operation performance, site group, and the degree of internationalization of ICBC website, which further reveals its overall strength and service advantage. In future, we will continue to implement ICBC's development strategy of internationalization and diversification, and further promote the planning and construction of our corporate website; we will expand the service space of the website by providing crossing-time-zone and multi-lingual services, and actively innovate the means and forms of our network services; and we will strive to enhance the standard of the professionalism, customization, and intelligence service, and to make unremitting efforts towards the goal of building a world-class portal of a modern financial enterprise.
