ICBC Continues to Be China’s Most Valuable Brand

The World Brand Lab has recently unveiled its Top 500 Most Valuable Chinese Brands 2015, where ICBC maintained its first position with a brand value of RMB 261,576 million. ICBC is the only financial brand among the top 10 on the list.

The World Brand Lab is chaired by Robert Mundell, Nobel Prize Laureate in Economics and Father of Euro, and its research results have been used as an important basis for evaluation of intangible assets in many corporate M&As. Top 500 Most Valuable Chinese Brands has been released for 12 times by far, and the ranking is based on analysis on financial position, consumer behaviors and brand strength. Brands from 27 industries are listed on this year’s ranking, such as food & beverage, textiles & clothing, culture & media, information technology and household appliances.

An official with ICBC indicated that the rapid business development and progress in innovation-based reform had resulted in ever richer brand connotation, continuously enhanced brand image and significantly increased brand value. In summary, brand has become an important part of ICBC’s core competitiveness. In 2014, ICBC was honored as “World’s Top Bank” by The Banker, and continued to top The Banker’s “Top 1000 Word Banks” and the Forbes’ “Global 2000”.
