ICBC has determined to donate RMB 5 million to the earthquake-stricken area in Yunnan Province for earthquake relief and rebuilding.

Immediately after the 6.5-magnitude earthquake hit Ludian County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, ICBC launched the emergency financial service mechanism. Ever since the earthquake broke out, all the 15 outlets under ICBC Zhaotong Branch have kept normal business to provide uninterrupted financial services for earthquake relief and local economic and social stability.

To better serve customers in disaster-stricken area and support the earthquake relief work, ICBC has also adopted the following financial service measures. First, it has actively processed the transfer and settlement of earthquake relief funds to ensure efficient operation of the fund transfer system. Second, it has actively approached the army, the armed police forces and other authorities engaged in the disaster relief work to learn about their cash need. The Bank prioritized urgent fund demand for earthquake rescue and relief purpose.Third, it has offered green channel for donations to the earthquake-stricken area. Donations via ICBC’s rapid donation channels (outlets, internet banking and mobile banking) can reach charity organizations in a real-time manner free of charge.
