The number of ICBC Chimelong Co-brand Credit Cards issued so far since January had exceeded one million, with the total amount of consumption reaching RMB 1.2 billion. The cards are jointly issued by ICBC and Chimelong Group.
According to an official of ICBC, the ICBC Chimelong Co-brand Credit Cards are the first of its kind in China issued with a national theme park, including UnionPay- and VISA-branded chip cards. The cards support contact and non-contact usage and have now been issued in Mainland, Hong Kong and Macau. The ICBC Chimelong Co-brand Credit Card is both a credit card of ICBC and a membership card of Chimelong Group; cardholders are entitled to relevant rights and interests of both parties, which has created a new development model for co-brand cards of domestic theme parks. Holders of the co-brand credit cards bearing the VISA logo are exempted from foreign exchange conversion fees when using in all the countries or regions worldwide; holders of the premium card are entitled to VIP room services and high aviation personal accident insurance at all domestic airports; cardholders can also directly use their bonus points to offset cash when swiping the card on ICBC's POS machines. In addition, cardholders can enjoy multiple discounts in Chimelong theme parks, including a 10% discount for tickets and hotel accommodation (in the case of platinum cards) and a 5% discount (in the case of gold cards). All types of the co-brand cards entitle the holders to one 50% ticket discount at each of Chimelong's theme parks, 24-hour free parking inside the parks, and various special offers (including cash rebates for card swiping, and 100-yuan passes for touring Chimelong) at family travel peaks during summer vacations and on holidays. All this has allowed cardholders to enjoy premium, convenient, trendy and exclusive financial services and tourism services.
In addition, ICBC Chimelong Co-brand Credit Card adopts the "PBOC" plus "EMV" dual-chip standards, offering payment safety assurance for mobile payments inside and outside China. In line with the trend of internet finance, ICBC will continue to build an online/offline integrated payment ecosphere in Chimelong tourist destinations, and bring full-suite and intelligent payment experience to cardholders visiting the theme park through O2O functions such as online POS, payment via QR codes, map navigation and online booking.
ICBC is now the biggest issuer of credit cards in Asia and the third biggest in the world. By December 2014, it became the first among its domestic peers that issued over 100 million credit cards, and led the industry in consumption amount and card use activity. Chimelong Group is a leading player in China's tourism industry, integrating theme parks, hotel accommodation, convention & exhibition, catering and entertainment; it is the first national travel brand that has realized large-scale operations in China. By leveraging its cutting-edge technological strength and consolidating the resources of both sides through cooperation with Chimelong Group, ICBC has combined efficient financial services with diversified interests of theme parks, bringing both tangible benefits and convenience to cardholders, and fulfilling integration between the travel industry and the finance industry.
