ICBC Takes Lead on Forbes “Global 2000” for Three Consecutive Years

Lately, Forbes, a prestigious American magazine, released the list of the Global 2000 Companies in 2015, on which ICBC took the top spot for the third consecutive year.

This year’s Global 2000 companies came from 61 countries and territories. The world’s largest and most powerful public companies were assessed and selected based on a comprehensive measurement system by the metrics of revenues, profits, assets and market value. The list showed that ICBC took a lead in the global banking industry by all four metrics, and maintained this position in a row.

Judging by the changes of the list, companies from China and the United States ranked the top ten for the second consecutive year, having equal shares. On the 2015 list, companies from Mainland China and Hong Kong numbered 232, surpassing Japan for the first time; and the number of newcomers exceeded that of other countries. Judging by industry, banks and diversified finance remained the largest bloc, with 434 companies on the list, but down by 27 as compared with last year.
