ICBC Tops the Global 2000 for Sixth Consecutive Year
 

On June 6, the Forbes released the 2018 Global 2000. ICBC tops the list by boasting comprehensive advantages in sales, profit, assets and market value. ICBC ranks the first on the list for the sixth consecutive year since it first took the top spot in 2013. Besides, there are 5 Chinese companies in the top 10 in total, making China and the US split the top ten evenly for the first time.

According to the Forbes, this year’s list includes publicly-listed companies from 60 countries and regions. Collectively, the companies on the list account for USD39.1 trillion in sales, USD3.2 trillion in profit, USD189 trillion in assets and USD56.8 trillion in market value. All data see double-digit increase year on year, with profits up by an impressive 28%. As to the changes on the list, 18 Chinese companies have entered the top 100, 3 more than that of last year. There are 291 Chinese companies on the list, 29 more than that of last year. Besides, 131 companies are newly enlisted in the ranking and the US, China, Japan, the UK and South Korea are the top 5 countries on the list with the largest number of companies included.

The Global 2000 is an annual ranking published since 2004 by the Forbes based on four metrics, namely sales, profit, assets and market value, and pools together the largest and most influential listed companies in the world.
