The 6th Financial Creative Design Contest of National College Students Kicks off
 

The Sixth “ICBC Cup” Financial Creative Design Contest of National College Students officially kicked off on June 16. All full-time Chinese junior-college students, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students can sign up for the competition.

This competition is divided into the financial creative design and the mock trading of precious metals. The financial creative design competition, closely tied with the "Rally Multitudes at one’s Call" plan of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, will expand its coverage to the entire financial sector, combine optional and given subjects, put forward subjects based on students’ optional creative subjects and the hot spots of the market in Internet banking, innovation of banking service, financial products for entrepreneurship, innovation of consumer loans etc., and collect the creative works in the higher learning institutions throughout the country. The mock trading of precious metals will be divided into two sessions -- practice session and challenge session. Each contestant will obtain an initial virtual account asset of RMB 1 million in each session, download the APP system for mock trading, place online orders, and invest in precious metals in kind and deferred precious metals. National and intramural rankings will be published on daily basis The system will close the mock trades of contestants in the last trading day of each session. The top five with the best current incomes will be awarded. In addition, the contest offers interactive e-mall platform experience activity, during which contestants can exchange their bonus points for gifts of the designated shops on the e-mall platform to realize their personal wishes.

Registration for participation has already been accepted, with specific registration methods and requirements for participation available on the competition’s official website http://icbc.threestudio.cc/ and WeChat public number “Golden Originality”, according to an official from the organizing committee of the contest. The contest’s review committee will consistently select and award the works on the principle of openness, fairness and justice, and ICBC will actively create conditions for transforming the selected outstanding creative ideas into innovative banking products. Meantime, by helping participants enrich experience through internship in ICBC outlets, the organizing committee will further optimize the bank-school cooperation model to cultivate innovative professionals, and expand the approaches to attract social forces and centralize the wisdom of the masses to innovate banking products.

The “ICBC Cup” Financial Creative Design Contest of National College Students was first held in 2010. With the accumulation of the previous five contests, it has gradually become a well-received and considerably influential bank-school cooperation and innovation activity which are popular among university teachers and students. In the last year’s competition, in particular, the number of contestants and submitted works enormously increased. Over 100,000 students from more than 440 universities and colleges across the country participated in and paid attention to the competition, who submitted more than 1,700 pieces of works. The contest plays a positive role in encouraging business start-up and innovations, and cultivating more innovative professionals for the society.
