ICBC Internet Banking Versions


ICBC Internet Banking has enjoyed a robust growth and phenomenal results over the past few years of rapid development. ICBC dominates the domestic leagues table by substantial margin (Link to the accolades received), owing very much to its expertise in the online banking services areas. There are over 100 versions of ICBC Internet Banking (amongst over ten of them are major versions) from 2000 till now, which greatly enrich the functions of ICBC Internet Banking, enhance the stability of the system, and increase the customer-friendly and personalized character of the internet banking products.

ICBC Personal Internet Banking made its debut on Aug 28, 2000 in Beijing and Zhejiang followed by "Banking@Home" on Nov 23, 2003, the next-generation ICBC Online Banking for individual customer. At present, in addition to service channels for Forex, Securities, Insurance and Shopping Mall, ICBC Personal Internet Banking claims a full range of 12 online services in the areas of Account Management, Transfer and Remittances, Bill Payment, Payment, Loan, Personal Finance, Shopping, and Online Banking with Passbook.

ICBC Corporate Internet Banking was officially launched on Feb. 1, 2000 in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Tianjin starting first time ever in China the banking services for corporate clients through internet. In Nov. 2004, ICBC expanded the E-banking service to small and medium enterprises . Today, ICBC Corporate Internet Banking is a cash management platform for assets and liabilities, in home and foreign currency starting with the core elements of group finance and online settlement and auxiliary services such as Financial Room, Toll Station, Correspondent Bank, VIP Room, B2B, Online bills, Online loan, Investment and Finance.

ICBC e Payment was upgraded fully unifying account system, mobile phone numbers, payment limit and safety certification and enabling flexible adjustment of them. With simplified enabling process, ICBC e Payment can be enabled for more than one account via the personal internet banking and mobile banking channels. Besides, the monthly payment limit control of RMB50,000 was added.

In terms of mobile banking, a special mobile portal touchscreen version (m.icbc.com.cn) was developed for smartphone users providing more diversified and more user-friendly mobile banking services.
ICBC e investment customer transaction terminal. A transaction terminal exclusive for ICBC e Payment was introduced for individual investors enabling quotation inquiry and trading of paper crude oil, paper precious metals and Accrual Gold, to further satisfy your independent and specialized trading requirements. You can download and install this terminal through ICBC portal and personal internet banking, and use it in win7 or win8 PCs.

Personal internet banking was optimized by canceling the personalized version and adding the compact version. Besides, customers can freely shift between the compact version and the standard version. Based on customers’ transaction habits, the compact version integrates common function menus. For example, it combines wealth management, precious metal, foreign exchange, bank-securities and futures services under the column of “Investment & Wealth Management” and puts bill payment, bank-hospital, social security and provident fund under the column of “Public Services”.

Corporate internet banking: corporate internet banking quick loan. “Online Finance-Quick Loan” financing service was added into corporate internet banking, enabling corporate customers to apply for loans, make drawdown, repay and conduct external payment online.
Commerce & Trade Express under ICBC Cash Management. Corporate internet banking and Bank-Enterprise Interlink began to provide Commerce & Trade Express under ICBC Cash Management, offering integrated online & offline financial services including account management, fund management, information management and payment financing to B2B bulk commodity trading markets and their corporate members.
Bank-Enterprise Interlink e-bill optimization. For Bank-Enterprise Interlink e-bill service, SMS notice, payment bills express agreement inquiry & maintenance, bill holding information & operation history information inquiry, bills pool drawing, reminder of acceptance & withdrawal of guarantee and signing for receiving were added.

Mobile Banking: Released mobile phone client APPs of eBuy for iPhone & Android mobile users. Customers can download the clients from ICBC website, mobile banking and APP stores including APPstore & Google play.

The enhanced mobile phone number-based remittance service cancelled the linking of beneficiary's mobile phone number with his/her ICBC account number and supports that the beneficiary*s account number can be other bank*s. After personal internet banking and mobile banking remitters input the beneficiary*s name, mobile phone number and amount of remittance, ICBC will send a 95588 SMS notice to the beneficiary and ask him/her to reply his/her ICBC account number or account number with other bank.

ICBC Messenger service can be accepted through the mobile phone banking clients now. The customers can customize or cancel this receiving mode under ※ICBC Messenger-Mobile Phone Reservation/Cancel Reservation" of mobile banking.

In the optimized mobile banking, first, we simplified the home page service of mobile phone clients by showing seven menus including eBuy, ICBC e Payment and ICBC Messenger to customers not logging in. After successful login, customers can check all the function menus. Second, we added E-receipt service whereby customers can save E-receipts or forward them with email or WeChat. The new iPhone mobile banking client terminal will go alive in App Stores after approval of Apple Inc.

Personal Internet Banking: Based on the customers* operation habits of Windows tablet PCs, we optimized the interface and style of its Welcome Message, My Account, Call Deposit, Transfer & Remittance and Customer Service functions to further enhance user experience. Besides, the mobile life mobile phone replenishing service is added too.

Corporate Internet Banking: The Tender Management & Bidder Management services are added to provide tenderers with tender project, bidder information and security deposit management services and enable bidders to inquire tender project information and pay security deposit.

E-commerce: The interbank acquiring service of e-commerce was introduced. Individual holders of UnionPay cards of other banks can select ※UnionPay Online Payment§ on the page of ICBC merchant B2C for order payment without registering for online banking of other banks. This service allows cards of more than 200 national or regional banks.

New queuing function in iPhone app and Android app, customers can log in to "Mobile Banking", click "Outlet Service" to check how many customers waiting in the line for deposits and withdrawals/wealth management or other services at the outlet first, then get a number and request ICBC to send a SMS when it is the turn to be served. The service will be available in ICBC branches nationwide in stages.

Support Android Banking users to use USB-Shield, subsequent to the launch of USB-Shield for iPhone users.

Personal Internet Banking: New app updates that come with new online services for iPad/Android tablet PC users to transfer money to accounts in other banks, receive/pay bills, use wealth management calculator, buy/sell crude oil (via account), get transaction snapshot or set PIN bypass limit. Android tablet PC users can also make B2C payment through Internet Banking.

Corporate Internet Banking: Interbank e-transfer service is now available around-the-clock for customers using Corporate Internet Banking and Bank-Enterprise Interlink. Interbank transfers under RMB 50,000 are credited into payees' accounts in real-time. The service will be available in ICBC branches nationwide in stages.

Bank-Enterprise Interlink: A new function on e-bill service is available for customers to issue bank acceptance draft, request endorsement, discount or pledge, check bills and acknowledge acceptance of commercial acceptance draft automatically.

Bonus Points: The debit card bonus points and credit card bonus points (excluding Centurion card bonus points and co-branded card bonus points, same below) of existing ICBC personal customers are combined as "Personal Bonus Points". To protect the benefits of customers, the redemption value of all combined bonus points remains unchanged. Previous bonus points for personal clients are converted into "Persona Bonus Points" at a ratio of 10:1, former credit card bonus points are converted into "Personal Bonus Points" at a ratio of 1:1.

New function in Payment Service - Corporate Treasury for customers to self-define the payment purpose. Customers are allowed to self-define the remittance purpose after signing up the self-defined function at the counter. III. In Online financial management software, customers registered at the counter are allowed to change the original fee-payment solution. In the Welcome webpage, new service where alerts are sent to remind customers the expiry of online financial management service. Allow corporate customers to apply for invoices online. IV. Enhancement on supply chain financial services includes new "Transfer" function besides accounts receivables financing and order financing. Upstream suppliers can transfer the balance from the escrow account when the incoming amount has been credited and loan of the core enterprise has been repaid.

Corporate Internet Banking: The cross-border FX remittance allows payments to be made to overseas banks. Bill pool is a service for drawing bill by sharing the limit under the bill pool agreement. The shared limit can be increased by pledging the bill into the pool or decreased by taking the pledged bill out of the pool. Customers also have the option to discount, pledge, transfer or apply for collection on the bills under custody in the pool.

Mobile Banking (WAP): New client software for fast logon. The software can be downloaded to mobile phone at ICBC portal, via PUSH SMS or Mobile Banking (WAP). Fast logon is easy: install the software, click the LOGO at the mobile menu and start the mobile browser, no need to key in the WAP logon address. (Fast logon is only available in WAP Ver. 2.0. WAP Ver. 1.2 does not have the function). A goodbye webpage is now included in Personal Internet Banking. After you sign up the service, every time when you logout system will automatically list out all the transactions within this login. You will also be reminded to unplug USB-Shield to avoid from being stolen. Further, to let customers enjoy the services, new features are made on the main columns about T-bond, fund, precious metal, online FX, online loan and mobile banking (WAP).

Corporate Internet Banking: "Allocation of Group overseas funds" allows companies to add accounts of their overseas subsidiaries into Internet Banking of the Group in China so that headquarter can check the accounts of their subsidiaries, allocate and manage the funds in the Group. The function enables a multinational group to allocate the funds around the world in a timely fashion. Launch functions related to the electronic commercial draft for customers to draw, accept, endorse or discount via Internet Banking. Such new functions help in the clearing of funds and statistics enquiry on electronic commercial draft and enable customers to settle payment and get financing through the use of paperless electronic commercial draft.
