ICBC took the "Corporate Governance Asia Recognition Award" for the fourth year running at the recent eighth "Corporate Governance Asia Recognition Awards" Ceremony hosted by the Corporate Governance Asia.

The Corporate Governance Asia is the only professional magazine in Asia Pacific region with special focus on corporate governance. The "Corporate Governance Asia Recognition Award" was given to companies who have achieved excellence in corporate governance, including: a previous publicly-acclaimed track record for corporate governance; involved in specific publicly-known activity/activities (legislation, survey, studies) directly related to improving or enhancing the standards of corporate governance during the past 12 months; implement significant and specific CG-related reforms during the past 12 months related to rights of shareholders, disclosure and transparency, board and management discipline, investor relations management and corporate social responsibility.

Based on the above, ICBC spends conscious efforts to build a corporate governance framework that provides checks and balances through its constituents: the annual shareholder meeting, accountable board of directors and board of supervisors, as well as an experienced management team.
