Introduction of Brand-New “New Customer Account Opening” Service in Mobile Banking

ICBC (Asia) has launched “New Customer Account Opening” service to provide an innovative way to open an account remotely. New customers can simply download the Bank’s mobile application to enjoy express account opening service. Without having to visit our branches, new customers can complete an integrated bank account opening application in as quickly as 8 minutes, anytime and anywhere.

Customers can also open a Consolidated Investment Account via mobile banking to enjoy the securities trading and funds investment services which help you to grasp every investment opportunity.

Open an account anytime and anywhere

New customers can simply download the Bank’s mobile application and complete the account opening application 1 remotely by capturing your HKID card (support the Smart Identity Card introduced in 2003 or 2018), taking a selfie, inputting your personal information and following a few easy steps.

After you have successfully opened an integrated bank account via mobile banking, you can also open a consolidated investment account in just few steps:- log in to the mobile banking and navigate to “Open Investment Account”, take a photo of your address proof and signature specimen and upload them, fill in your information and agree the terms and conditions and declarations. We will notify you the account opening result in 2 working days after your submission.2.

Detailed account opening steps

1 Your integrated account opening application will be processed on the same day if your application is submitted from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (except public holidays). Your application will be processed on the next working day if your application is not submitted in the period mentioned above. We will notify you the status of the application via SMS or email.

Integrated Bank Account

The new services include managing an integrated account consolidated with a wide range of foreign currencies, conducting local transactions via Faster Payment Service (FPS), using biometric authentication as an alternative method to access mobile banking, enquiring accounts balance, making a time deposit, performing currency trading, paying the bill, checking transactions details, checking application status, setting transaction limit and re-setting password.
