Introduction
 
Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited (ICBC), formerly known as Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, was established on January 1st, 1984. On October 28th, 2005, ICBC has been restructured as a limited company. On October 27th, 2006, it was listed on both the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (SEHK).

Through its continuous endeavor and stable development, the Bank has developed into the top of largest listed banks in the world. As of the end of June 2023, the Bank had a total of 16,411 institutions, including 15,996 domestic institutions and 415 overseas institutions in 49 countries and regions, and indirectly covered 20 African countries through shareholding in Standard Bank Group, and established business relationship with 1,443 overseas banks in 143 countries and regions. The service network of the Bank covers six continents and major international financial centers in the world. ICBC established a presence in the Netherlands via its wholly-owned subsidiary bank in Luxembourg, ICBC (Europe) S.A. Upon approval by Dutch Central Bank, ICBC (Europe) S.A. obtained its banking license in September 2010, marking that ICBC, the largest commercial bank in China, entered the Netherlands formally and became the largest Chinese bank in this country.
