6 2010 ICBC Work Conference Held in Beijing
On February 8th and 9th, 2010 ICBC Work Conference was held in Beijing. The Conference was chaired by Zhao Lin, Chief of Supervisory Board. Mr. Jiang Jianqing, Chairman of the Board, made the keynote speech while Yang Kaisheng, President of ICBC, delivered an overall work report of the whole bank's operation. The conference comprehensively summarized the bank's achievements in 2009 and made 2010 work deployment. Delegates had group discussion on the subject of reform and development of ICBC.
23 Prospects on 2010 Macro Situation
Interpretation on macro situation has become crucial for domestic commercial banks. How to judge the macroeconomic situation in 2010? what kind of policies and measures the state will take? In view of these questions, Wang Yiming, Vice President of the Macroeconomic Research Academy of the National Development and Reform Commission, and Zhang Yansheng, Director of the Foreign Economic Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission were invited to the ICBC Innovation Salon for in-depth discussion.
27 Political Implication and Impact of the Release of Margin Trading and Stock Index Future
It is alleged by the stock supervisory committee on January 8th 2010, that the State Council have in principle agreed to launch the business pilot of stock index future and margin trading. This move is expected to help enhance the market's value-seeking function and rationalize market in the long run. However, it also set higher requirements for the regulatory authorities. The release of stock index future will be conducive in optimizing the valuation level of the entire banking sector and promoting business development as well as product innovation for commercial banks.

On February 8th, 2010 ICBC Work Conference announced "the top 30 tier-two branches" ranking. Changzhou branch's dazzling performance entitled the honor of the first place for the 4th time in consecutive years. It also stays the performance champion among ICBC Jiangsu Province sub-branches for 10 years. On February 23rd, China Urban Finance reporter walked into the Changzhou branch's office, to collect its stories and experience by interviewing Yue Xiaoyong, president of Changzhou branch.
44 Reflection on the Bank Network Transformation
Significant change of environment has put forward higher requirements on domestic banks' network. More than serving as traditional "operational cells", commercial banks' network has turned their competitive strength into a significant factor in market competition. The next 3 to 5 years will be a critical period of banks' channel competition. Enhancing network competitive strength will be the main task for domestic banks, with the direction towards establishing function of providing network-based marketing services and full integration of channel resources.
