On 7 Jun 2016, ICBC Singapore hosted the 2nd RMB Internationalisation Summit RMB Rising on the Maritime Silk Road & Inauguration of ICBC Shipping Finance Centre (Asia Pacific) in Singapore. Co-hosts of the event includes Business China, Centre for RMB Internationalisation Studies, International Enterprise Singapore, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, Singapore Business Federation and Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The Summit marks the second of ICBC Singapore’s regional large-scale events to discuss policy initiatives and developments on the RMB, particularly with regards to Special Drawing Rights (SDR) and China’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative. At the event, ICBC Singapore also announced the inauguration of the ICBC Shipping Finance Centre (Asia Pacific) and hosted the signing of formal MOUs and Cooperation Agreements for strategic cooperation between ICBC Group and seven organisations.
