Chinese stocks opened mixed on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.13 percent to open at 3,249.19 points.

The smaller Shenzhen Component index opened flat at 10,443.30 points. The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, was down 0.05 percent to open at 1,937.56 points.
