FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Thursday rose by 0.64 percent, or 47.31 points, to 7,415.95 points.

Share price of Anglo American increased by 9.96 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Glencore, Antofagasta, Fresnillo and Randgold Resources increased by 5.01 percent, 4.65 percent, 3.92 percent and 3.23 percent respectively.

Hikma Pharmaceuticals led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 4.66 percent, following by Merlin Entertainments (2.92 percent), Wm Morrison Supermarkets (1.71 percent), Tesco (1.32 percent) and J Sainsbury (1.22 percent).
