The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Wednesday closed almost flat by merely up by 1.17 points or 0.01 percent, at 11967.31 points.

Share of adidas went up the most by 9.42 percent, followed by German airlines Lufthansa and Deutsche Bank by 2.88 percent and 1.85 percent respectively.

Energy group E.ON, Deutsche Post and automotive giant Volkswagen were the top three losers on Wednesday, whose shares dropped by 3.63 percent, 2.75 percent and 1.21 percent respectively.

Adidas instead of Deutsche Bank was the most traded share with a turnover of 578.73 million euros (610.90 million U.S. dollars).
