German stocks closed flat on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 0.13 points, or 0.00 percent, to close at 12,358.87 points.

Energy group RWE won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.29 percent. Energy group E.ON and personal-care company Beiersdorf rose by 1.98 percent and 1.51 percent respectively.

Industrial giant Thyssenkrupp lost the most among the blue chips, falling 0.98 percent. Marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group and automaker Daimler went down by 0.83 percent and 0.77 percent respectively.

Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer was the most-traded share, with a turnover of 425.91 million euros (485.53 million U.S. dollars).
