French stock market index, the CAC 40, gained 0.24 percent and closed at 4,993.32 points on Friday.

The top three gainers were SOCIETE GENERALE, up 2.13 percent, CREDIT AGRICOLE, up 2.02 percent, and BNP PARISBAS, up 1.76 percent.

The three companies of which the stock prices dropped the most were ARCELORMITTAL, down 1.83 percent, UNIBAIL-RODAMCO, down 1.70 percent, and SOLVAY, down 1.44 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40, gained 0.42 percent and closed at 4,981.51 points on Thursday.
