Singapore stocks finished higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 26.09 points or 0.83 percent to close at 3,163.52.

A total of 2.72 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.58 billion Singapore dollars (1122.59 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered decliners 319 to 181.

The STI index lost 5.97 points or 0.19 percent to close at 3,137.43 on Wednesday.
