Albanian Economy to Grow Average of 4.1 pct in Next Three Years: Ministry

Albanian Ministry of Finance presented Tuesday its Macroeconomic and Fiscal Framework 2017-2019, which predicted Albanian economy to grow at an average rate of 4.1 percent for 2017-2019.

The ministry also forecasted a 3.4 percent economic growth for 2017.

Increased confidence in the economy and the favorable financial conditions supported the growth of private consumption and investment during 2016, the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry also expects higher revenues to the state budget in the next three years, saying the total income for 2017-2019 are projected to grow by an average of about 7.2 percent annually.

It said investments will be the main contributor to such growth, adding that the government is expected to finance a broad package of public works projects, mainly in infrastructure and tourism.
