China to Float Third-ever 50-year T-bonds

China's Ministry of Finance announced Wednesday that it would issue the country's third-ever 50-year national treasury bonds this week at a yield of 4.4 percent.

With a total face value of 28 billion yuan (4.22 billion U.S. dollars), the bonds will be on sale for five days from Thursday and become tradable on Nov. 24, according to a statement on the ministry's website,

China first introduced the 50-year T-bond on the interbank market in November 2009 with a 4.3-percent coupon rate.

The country issued the second 50-year T-bond on May 21 this year at a coupon rate of 4.03 percent.
