China's top economic planner released a revised catalog on Friday for technologies and products that the country wants its companies to import in 2011.
The catalog singles out technologies and products that will be required by China's emerging strategic industries, which include high-end equipment manufacturing, new generation information technologies, clean energy production and materials, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said in a statement on its website.
The move aims to optimize the diversity of China's imports and promote the importing of advanced technologies and environmentally friendly products, according to the statement.
The new catalog will serve the development of China's emerging industries, which will in turn help the country balance and restructure its economy, the statement said.
The catalog was jointly revised and issued by the NDRC, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Commerce, the statement said.
