In order to further improve and enhance the level of the small enterprise finance services as well as boost the development of small enterprise finance business, recently ICBC sets up Small Enterprise Finance Business Department in its headquarters. ICBC Small Enterprise Finance Business Department is a Level-1 department of the headquarters, specially offering quality, convenient, efficient and customized financial services for various small enterprise customers. The establishment of the department signs that ICBC's small enterprise finance services have entered into a new stage of specialization running.

It is reported that ICBC puts great emphasis on the development of small enterprise finance business and the lift of the service level in recent years, clearly takes small enterprise finance services as a business for strategic development and regards the small enterprises as important cooperation partners. In 2005, ICBC was appointed by China Banking Regulatory Commission as one of two small enterprise credit loan pilots in China.  Therefore ICBC established a professional small enterprise operation and management team, and first operated small enterprise loan and service business as an independent business variety in nationwide financial system. Taking into consideration of the particularity of financial management in small enterprises, ICBC has made a brand new small enterprise rating and credit management system through investigation. Meanwhile, it has redesigned small enterprise credit loan business flow, explored new business management systems and risk precaution measurements, and built new modes for market expansion and business marketing. Since this year ICBC makes great efforts to boost the construction of the institutions specially offering services to small enterprises throughout the bank. According the requirements of China Banking Regulatory Commission about the establishment of "Six Mechanisms" of small enterprise finance business, ICBC is accelerating the improvement of the corresponding business operation mechanism, integrating business resources and speeding up product innovation in order to boost the small enterprise finance services to a new level as soon as possible.
