Earlier, Senior Executive Vice President Zhang Hongli of ICBC was appointed as deputy chairman of The Standard Bank Group of South Africa, the Africa's largest commercial bank. In 2008, ICBC bought a 20% stake in Standard Bank Group and became the largest single shareholder.
