U.S. Dollar Ticks up on Weaker Euro, British Pound
 

The U.S. dollar advanced in late trading Monday on weaker euro and British pound. The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, increased 0.32 percent at 96.0156 in late trading.

In late New York trading, the euro was down to 1.1466 dollars from 1.1510 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound decreased to 1.2971 dollars from 1.3065 U.S. dollars in the previous session. The Australian dollar was down to 0.7083 dollar from 0.7118 dollar.

The U.S. dollar bought 112.80 Japanese yen, higher than 112.60 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar decreased to 0.9961 Swiss franc from 0.9971 Swiss franc, and it decreased to 1.3103 Canadian dollars from 1.3116 Canadian dollars.
