Japan Sees Industrial Output in Nov. Unchanged

Japan's industrial output increased 1.5 percent in November from the previous month last year, unchanged from the data in a preliminary report, showed official data on Tuesday.

In November 2016, the index of output at factories and mines stood at 99.9 against the base of 100 in 2010, the highest level since January 2015, said the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

In the same month, the index of industrial shipment growth on monthly basis was revised upward to a 1.0 percent growth from the initially reported 0.9 percent rise, while that of inventories was revised downward to a 1.6 percent drop from the 1.5 percent fall in the preliminary report, according to data released by the ministry.

Improvements in general-purpose, production and business oriented machinery, electrical machinery, and transport equipment ranked top three in terms of contribution to the increase of the industrial output index in November.
