The Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) reported Thursday that 3.6 percent of the Swiss working population were jobless in February, down from 3.7 percent in January 2017.
With 4,657 fewer people registered as jobless last month, SECO revealed that 159,809 individuals were classified as unemployed in the period under review.
Statistics showed that youth (15 to 24 year olds) unemployment dropped by 3.4 percent, with 19,108 young adults looking for a job last month.
The number of jobseekers signed up to work in the confederation decreased by 3,234 people from January to February, reaching 223,627 people by the end of February.
Swiss authorities revealed that the number of listed job opportunities in the country grew by 947 last month, to reach 12,041.
