On June 16, ICBC Chairman Chen Siqing unveiled ICBC Jinyang Sub-branch through video. Located in Liangshan of Sichuan Province, Jinyang County is one of the targeted poverty alleviation counties of ICBC in Sichuan. Prior to the date, ICBC has set up a withdrawal outlet for farmers in Jinyang. The opening of Jinyang Sub-branch further will improve ICBC’s financial services in the areas of extreme poverty.

Mr. Chen Siqing said that, in order to better enhance the adaptability, competitiveness and inclusiveness of financial services in poor areas, ICBC, in recent years, has actively set up outlets, added equipment, and promoted coordination. As a result, its offline channel coverage in poor counties has been increasing. Depending on ICBC’s FinTech advantages, as well as the characteristic scenarios of “Cloud Store” and “ICBC Mall”, ICBC’s county-level network represented by Jinyang Sub-branch help people in poor areas enjoy the same quality services as those in big cities.

In the next move, ICBC will take into account both the actual conditions and long-term development needs, and continue to support poverty alleviation in Jinyang. First, ICBC will consolidate achievements in poverty alleviation. ICBC will further focus on key areas and key projects, continue to develop specialty industries. On the opening day of ICBC Jinyang Sub-branch on June 16, it issued two poverty-relief industry loans amounting to RMB12 million. At the same time, ICBC also leverages FinTech to empower Jinyang to get rid of poverty. Among its moves, the bank launched the county mobile banking in Jinyang, provided wealth management services and procurement negotiation on poverty alleviation products through the “Cloud Store” model, ordered agricultural products accurately via “ICBC Mall”, block chain and other technologies, and created the “smart health care” project in Jinyang People’s Hospital.
