Last year total output value of our province's pharmaceutical industry reached 75 billion Yuan, representing a growth of 25% even under pressure of economic depression, ranking the third in the country. 2009 Provincial Foods and Drugs Supervision and Administration Workshop held yesterday announced these data. Vice Governor Tong Xing attended the meeting and delivered a speech. 

The meeting disclosed in the last year provincial drug supervisory authorities carried out special doping control works lasting for a half of year together with relevant authorities. During the period, 51 drug retailing enterprises illegally operating doping had been investigated and punished and 8 illegal websites had been closed. There was no any emergency event about doping management in our province during Olympic Games period. According to source, this year Guangdong will deploy special doping control works of 2010's Asian Games in advance to prevent narcotic drugs and psychotropic drugs from flowing into illegal .

Tong Xing said on the meeting, before current tough economic situation, the industrial structure adjustment of foods and drugs that might be accelerated, the difficulties of production and operation of enterprise and the disputes brought by re-organization might have negative influence on safe production. Therefore drug supervisory authorities should pay attention to enhancement of safety risk management of foods and drugs.
