Tickets for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Guangzhou Asian Games and Asian Para Games go on sale to the public worldwide starting from 10 am on July 26, 2010. Tickets offered for sales in this phase for the 4 ceremonies (opening and closing ceremonies of the Asian Games and Asian Para Games) are sold under the principle of “payment first, open subscription, confirmation by ticket draw”. The public can buy the tickets at the official ticketing website and the designated ICBC ticketing outlets.
At 10:02 am on July 26, ICBC Yitai Plaza sub-branch submitted the first request for the ticket during this phase II of ticket sales.
As the opening and closing ceremonies of the Asian Games and Asian Para Games carry significant meaning, the public has long been waiting and paying every attention when the tickets are available for sale. To ensure that everyone has the correct information, the Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (GAGOC) and Asian Para Games Organizing Committee (APGOC) held a press conference to announce that the final draw will only take place after receiving all valid applications before August 15. Every application submitted in any day during phase II ticket sales has equal chance of obtaining the ticket. As the public is well informed, the first day of ticket sales went on smoothly though everybody is eager to get a ticket. No peak period for the application craze on the day.
Until 5 pm on July 26, GAGOC received a total of 400+ requests for tickets. Ticketing hotline has attended more than 500 enquiry calls from the public. Since the tickets sold in this phase must be paid first during application, GAGOC's ticketing center advises the ticket applicants to choose an appropriate date between July 26 and August 15. To ensure the smooth processing, avoid submitting the application on the closing date (August 15).
