ICBC(Asia) launches brand new“Face ID Login Service” in Mobile Banking

Biometric technologies, such as fingerprint and facial recognition, have gradually matured and evolved over the years to become a secure and reliable method for identity authentication. We are proud to announce that starting from July 2018, our Mobile Banking App will support” Face ID Login”. With the pervasive use of passwords in almost every aspect of our daily life, traditional login methods using complicated combinations of letters and digits often cause inconvenience to users. If you forget the user password, you are required to visit any of our branches for password reset. It takes a long time to do so.

From now onwards, iPhone users (only applicable to iPhones equipped with Face ID function) can log in to ICBC (Asia) mobile banking services by simply looking at the iPhone screen. “Face ID Login Service” allows you to use facial recognition as an alternative on your ICBC (Asia) personal mobile banking user ID and password to access mobile banking services. You will now be able to enjoy a wide range of services offered by our Mobile Banking app with greater convenience and faster speeds.

Steps for activation:

Step 1: Log in with your online banking username/account no. and password to activate “Face ID Login Service”

Step 2: Choose” Activate Face ID Login Setting” under “Service and Settings”

Step 3: View and accept the terms and conditions.

Step 4: Input SMS OTP for verification

Step 5: Look at the iPhone screen, the device will verify your “Face ID”.

Step 6: "Face ID Login Setting" turns on. You may log in mobile banking with Face ID now!

*Remarks:

1. “Face ID Login” Service is available for use only on Apple iPhone X or later iPhone models with an operating system of iOS 11 or above.
