ICBC(Asia) Internet and Mobile Banking Security Notice

ICBC (Asia) has been adopting stringent security measures to keep your online and mobile banking account safe and secure. Follow these “Security Tips” and protect yourself from online fraud.

Stay vigilant and be aware of suspicious Emails or SMS

  1. Do not logon to your ICBC (Asia) Online or Mobile Banking through hyperlinks embedded in any suspicious emails, SMS, third party websites or QR Code. Should always access to our Online Banking Service by typing our Bank’s website address www.icbcasia.com directly into your browser.
  2. Do not download or open any emails or its attachment from unknown senders, or reply or forward any suspicious emails. Delete emails from unknown senders immediately after receive them. Such emails should also be permanently deleted from the "Trash Bin" of your email box.
  3. Do not click any hyperlink embedded in an unknown email / instant message.

How to identify phishing and fake websites or fake emails?

  1. Get into the habit of checking for the email address of the senders such as a similar looking email address. For example, the correct email address should be “@icbcasia.com” instead of “@icbcasian.com ”.
  2. Check the “padlock” icon on the browser’s address bar and check the URL of the website you are currently on should begin with ‘https’ .
  3. Do not use public Wi-Fi network to logon to your Online or Mobile Banking Service. Using telecommunication network is more secure.
  4. Do not forward or reply directly to any emails / SMS that ask you to provide personal information. If you find a suspicious email or SMS, you should contact us immediately.
  5. Visit HKMA’s website regularly for information on Fraudulent Bank Websites, Phishing E-mails and Similar Scams.

Access Online Banking and Mobile Banking Service securely

  1. Keep your personal information and Two-factor authentication information safe in order to avoid any misappropriation.
  2. Regularly change Online and Mobile Banking password and use strong password combination.
  3. The ICBC (Asia) mobile banking app should be downloaded or updated through the Bank’s website at www.icbcasia.com or via official sources (Apple App Store/ Google Play).
  4. Remember to install and update the latest security software to protect your mobile phone and personal computer from hackers' attack.
  5. Update your mobile phone operating system and security software regularly.
  6. Check your bank statement regularly and report any unusual transaction to us immediately.
